Mental Health & Addictions Worker
Contract • Temiskaming Shores Region
The CMHA Cochrane Timiskaming Branch is currently recruiting a Mental Health & Addictions Worker who is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and who plays a key role in the coordination of care and services for clients who are affected by addictions and/or serious mental illness. The Worker recognizes and respects the individuality and uniqueness of each client, including their needs, values, beliefs, and choices.
Following a community-based model, the Worker provides a range of services including, but not limited to, intake, assessment, referral, case management, treatment and counselling, outreach, social rehabilitation, community support, psychiatric consultation, and after care. The Worker facilitates support group in collaboration with their agency colleagues and other community partners to enable clients to live an optimal quality of life in the community according to their own needs and choices. The Worker also provides support and guidance to the family members, performs crisis intervention, and facilitates public education events on mental illness and substance abuse.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Other Bachelor’s degrees with significant relevant mental health and addictions experience and training may also be considered
Experience in the mental health and addictions field would be an asset;
Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers would be an asset;
The ability to work with a population of clients with diverse and complex issues;
Valid driver’s licence and use of a reliable vehicle for work purposes.

Rate: $38.96 (Step 1 on MHW scale)
