WB Melback Corporation is a wholly Canadian owned company with headquarters based in Haileybury, Ontario with job sites all over the country. WB Melback Corporation provides Mechanical Maintenance and Industrial Construction Services to Forestry and Mining sectors across Canada.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented accounting student to join our Finance Department for the summer term. This hands-on role provides practical experience in accounting, project cost management, and digital financial systems within a fast-paced construction and industrial environment. You will also gain exposure to enterprise software implementation, including the rollout of SAP Concur, and support process improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice, purchase order, and expense report entry
• Support payroll data entry and time sheet verification
• Track project costs and maintain organized digital and physical project files
• Reconcile credit card statements and vendor accounts
• Assist with month-end preparation, reporting, and audit documentation collection
• Perform general data entry and administrative tasks for the finance team
• Support the implementation and adoption of SAP Concur, including testing, data entry, and creating user-friendly guides for staff
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ERP system enhancements
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of financial and employee information
• Perform other duties as assigned under finance leadership guidance

What We’re Looking For:
• Currently enrolled in a College Diploma or University Degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage confidential information
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to work independently while supporting a dynamic team
• Interest in learning digital financial systems, including ERP and SAP Concur

Employment Term:

• Hourly wage: $20–$30 (based on experience and completed post-secondary education)
