B&G Industrial Services Ltd. is seeking General Labourers to join our team. This is a hands-on position supporting our industrial fabrication and manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will perform general yard labour, move and organize materials, operate forklifts and loaders, and assist our shop and fabrication teams as required.

The position requires someone who is comfortable working outdoors and in a busy industrial environment, performing physically demanding tasks and safely using a variety of hand and power tools.  The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-minded and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities to help keep our yard and operations running efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, loaders and other material-handling equipment to move steel, materials and equipment throughout the yard and shop.
• Load and unload materials, trucks and trailers.
• Sort, organize, stack and store steel, materials, equipment and supplies in designated areas.
• Assist welders, welders/fabricators and other shop employees with material handling and general labour as required.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform general maintenance, preparation, assembly and other shop and yard tasks.
• Perform general yard maintenance, including cleaning, organizing and maintaining safe access and work areas.
• Prepare materials and equipment for jobs and assist with moving completed work and materials.
• Perform routine pre-use inspections of forklifts, loaders and other equipment and report any defects or maintenance concerns.
• Follow all B&G Industrial Services Ltd. health and safety policies, procedures and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and promptly address potential hazards.
• Assist with snow removal, general property maintenance and other seasonal yard duties as required.
• Perform other general labour and yard-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, industrial or construction environment is an asset.
• Previous experience operating forklifts and loaders is preferred.
• Valid forklift or equipment operator certification is an asset; training may be provided to the successful candidate where required.
• Experience using hand and power tools is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify basic equipment or maintenance issues.
• Ability to safely handle and move materials in an industrial environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, climb and perform manual labour throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely with limited supervision.
• Reliable, punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This position is well suited to someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with equipment, tools and materials and wants to be part of a team supporting B&G's industrial fabrication operations.

Compensation & Benefits 

 Wage: CA$48,000.00 - CA$57,000.00 per year

 Overtime: Paid in accordance with Ontario Employment Standards Act
