Residential Workers (Casual Part-time)

Position Summary: Community Living Temiskaming South is currently seeking qualified individuals for the Residential Worker (Counsellor I) position. This position reports directly to the Supervisor, Residential Services and is responsible for providing person centered support for adults with intellectual disabilities in a group home setting. Participating as a team member in the general operation of the residence, including household chores, recreational activities, and personal care. As well as organizing and preparing nutritious meals as required.
Shift: As scheduled, up to 80 hours per pay period
Salary Range: As per the Collective Agreement
Education / Training:
- Grade 12 or relevant combination of experience and education.
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Class “G” driver’s license
- First Aid & CPR
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training
- Experience working in social services with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Superior communication, interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities;
- Collaborative team player, flexible and able to promote change;
- Well organized, a self-starter, able to work independently;
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a social service organization, preferably in an organization supporting persons with intellectually disabilities;
Skills
- Bilingual
- French
- English
- High school diploma or GED
- First Aid Certification
- Communication skills
Ability to speak English and French is considered an asset.
Pay: From $25.05 per hour
