The Submerged Arc Welding Operator Role
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the gantry The SAW Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining submerged arc welding equipment to perform high-quality welding on metal components. This role involves ensuring the precision of welds, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining the efficiency of welding operations. The operator ensures all operations meet safety standards and quality requirements.

Role & Responsibilities

• Operate submerged arc welding equipment to weld metal components according to technical specifications and blueprints.
• Set up welding machines for specific welding tasks.
• Perform welding on various materials, including structural steel, pipe, and plate,
• Conduct routine maintenance on SAW equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and replacing worn or damaged parts and troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues to minimize downtime
• Inspect welds for defects, such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion, using visual inspection and measurement tools while ensuring that welds meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Make adjustments to the welding process as necessary to achieve desired results.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Work closely with other welders, technicians, and supervisors to coordinate welding tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
• Other job duties as required

Requirements & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in welding is preferred.
• Previous experience operating submerged arc welding equipment is highly desirable. On-the-job training may be provided.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to perform minor equipment repairs.
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, level etc.)
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in different environments
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

Our Work Schedule is 44 hours per week
        Monday's-Thursday's - 7am-5pm
        Friday's - 7am-1pm
