SUMMER STUDENT -  YARD ASSISTANT 

Are you a student with a passion for agriculture? Are you looking for work before you head back to school?  8-week position available.

Do you enjoy being outdoors and completing hands-on work?

The Yard Assistant will be responsible for the cleanliness of the maintenance shop, buildings & grain bins. You will perform general upkeep and maintenance of the yard including grounds care, maintaining equipment lineups, and loading/unloading of equipment. This entry-level position offers a great starting point and potential for future growth within our organization.

WHAT DOES A YARD ASSISTANT DO?

• Monitors and maintains the building, general shop, and yard including cutting grass, spraying weeds, filling potholes, removing debris, and monitoring garbage/recycling bins.
• Assists with loading and unloading new and used equipment.
• Assists with maintaining all equipment lines in the yard to look tidy.
• Assists with wash bay duties and cleaning equipment as required.
• Provides support to the Elevator Manager &  Service Technicians as required.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations.

POSITION DETAILS

• Full-time temporary: ASAP
• Days of work will vary from Monday to Saturday of each week

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Previous experience operating hand tools and grounds care equipment
• Drivers License
• Physically capable with the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Team player with excellent listening skills
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to be adaptable

THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE AN ASSET (BUT NOT MANDATORY)

• Previous experience driving equipment including the ability to pull a trailer
