Job Summary

The Summer Student provides general labour support across company operations, with a primary focus on groundskeeping and property maintenance, and secondary support to production, warehouse, and facility operations as needed. This role contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment both outdoors and within the manufacturing facility.

Pay: CA$18.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities – Grounds & Property Maintenance

· Cut grass and maintain lawns around buildings, warehouses, equipment areas, and surrounding property.

· Trim grass in ditches using a weed trimmer and/or mower.

· Remove and control weeds on patios, entrances, under stairs, and other designated areas (including weed killer when required).

· Sweep patios, entrances, and paved areas; remove debris using brooms or leaf blowers.

· Trim or remove dead branches and small trees as directed.

· Pick up garbage and debris across lawns, parking lots, and roadways.

· Perform seasonal tasks such as blowing, raking, mulching, and removing leaves.

Secondary Responsibilities – Production & Warehouse Support

· Assist with inventory picking, material movement, and part preparation.

· Support basic assembly, cleaning, and organization of work areas.

· Perform housekeeping and waste removal tasks.

· Assist maintenance, facilities, or production staff with general labour tasks as assigned.

General Duties

· Perform miscellaneous tasks such as painting or assisting trades as assigned.

· Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns to a supervisor.

· Work cooperatively with team members across departments.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

· Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.

· Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

· Participate in safety training and follow safe work practices.

Qualifications & Skills

· Ability to perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Experience operating lawn equipment (riding mower, push mower, weed trimmer) is an asset; training will be provided as required.

· Willingness to perform a variety of general labour tasks.

· Ability to follow instructions and work safely with minimal supervision.

· Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing priorities.

Working Conditions

· Combination of outdoor and indoor manufacturing and warehouse environments.

· Exposure to noise, dust, weather, machinery, and chemicals (training and PPE provided).
